Linen Dress 03:39
This ain’t my first rodeo She bit her lip leaned back and smiled Don’t move to fast take it slow Stick around if you like my style A floral print on a linen dress in the moonlight Lord is alright, it’s alright by me The papers are signed I’m free to go The scars left here are love’s fault She took my money to Ohio Are you ready for a fresh start A floral print on a linen dress in the moonlight Lord is alright, it’s alright by me A floral print on a linen dress in the moonlight Lord is alright, it’s alright by me I bide my time sitting up here toiling away I ain’t know poet these are just things I hear people say I may be living in the Lord’s house but doing the Devil’s work But I’m not that jerk This ain’t my first time alone It’ll be my last we’re too old Pick up your coat put down the phone This is no recital this is rock and roll A floral print on a linen dress in the moonlight Lord is alright, it’s alright by me A floral print on a linen dress in the moonlight Lord is alright, it’s alright by me A floral print on a linen dress in the moonlight Lord is alright It’s alright By…

Cassandra 04:09
Cassandra what will it take to make it right Cassandra hold on to me with all your might The road is long this place is nowhere near the end Cassandra I’ll kiss you on the cheek again This is not goodbye Lay back and close your eyes Share your smile with the night time sky How I think of you In the summertime you are the warmth again my skin When the sun is high I am the shade you roll within When you walk on by I’ve got to take a leap of faith Cassandra I know you best be on your way This is not goodbye Lay back and close your eyes Share your smile with the night time sky How I think of you, I think of you Cassandra, there’s one thing left for you to know Cassandra, ain’t it time we said hello This is not goodbye Lay back and close your eyes Share your smile with the night time sky How I think of you, I think of you Cassandra Cassandra Cassandra Cassandra

I saw Jesus with my Angel Walking down Decatur Street I saw a woman who once loved me I hang my head in defeat I thought I was wise but what did I know I thought I was right but I had no reason Go away I scream in fear I can’t let go! That moment of regret You followed me here from another year I stand in line with those who drink to forget I pray to your picture I keep in my pocket Your standing afar sun shining on your face I saw Jesus with my Angel Walking down Decatur Street I saw Jesus with my Angel Walking down Decatur Street I know a boy who became a man Beat and battered for his life he pled She was judge and jury the trial began Man and wife by the verdict, I do, she said I see my face in the bottom of a glass Wink back at me as I throw it in the trash I see your eyes in headlights that I pass Driving me back to doorsteps from my past Don’t go, don’t stop, don’t give in Love is the way we wash away our sins Thank you for the days that you gave to me Thank you for the nights and the mornings too I lost your trust that I see I’m sorry for the time I took from you So now you’re out with brand new friends And a man with a beard, long hair, and a smile I saw Jesus with my Angel Walking down Decatur Street I saw a woman who once loved me I hang my head in defeat I know a boy who became a man Beat and battered for his life he pled She was judge and jury the trial began Man and wife by the verdict, I do, she said I saw Jesus with my Angel

Two Step 05:53
How many nights must I lie here beside you Knowing you don’t want me after all of these years I sit by my window I see the land that we got here I draw down my shade to keep the light from my tears We danced in the Springtime to Wheatley and Dean You’ll smile shined over the Bay in-between We laughed on the stair when I took off your shoe You cried in my arms when the captain passed away Dance a two step at midnight Swing softly with me Dance a two step at midnight And bring back your love to me I trembled inside as you walked to the alter I felt your heart beating as we stood hand in hand Now here we stand 20 years after All that I ask can I still be your man Dance a two step at midnight Swing softly with me Dance a two step at midnight And bring back your love to me And bring back your love to me

Moments 05:13
Some old memory woke me up today You’re calling from some lonesome highway If you’re leaving because you think you must I’ll be here burning the day away While my words disappear into dust You’re driving far away from us Turn around if you’ve something to say Before you smile and fade away. I’ve been bruised and I’ve been battered By the things that don’t matter Chip away Always find myself holding on To moments long dead and gone Like worry beads fumbling through hands I kneed them through until I’m damned I’ve been bruised and I’ve been battered By the things that don’t matter Chip away, chip away If my heart has hardened into stone Chip away the rock what’s left can build a home Hold on to what time has weathered away It can be assembled to start a new day Always chasing some new shiny thing My hopes drift apart like broken rings I guess I’ll grab my things and go And find a new memory for tomorrow. I’ve been bruised and I’ve been battered By the things that don’t matter Chip away, chip away, chip away, chip away

Another one’s up another one comes down On the ground Another one’s up I have found Faces on the streets tonight Look different by the fire light Another one’s up whenever I am down On the ground One more bottoms up that I down But I’m walking again It’s Spring time my friend All my money has gone away All my friends are here to stay Oh my honey she’s gone away Good times will come back some day No body says what’s up when ever I am down On the town Everyone’s up when I bum around Don’t park me by the side of the road Light a fire we’ll shake off the cold Another one’s up whenever I am down On the ground Ain’t easy getting up when everybody is down at sundown Now I got a job to do I’ll be there how about you All my money has gone away All my friends are here to stay Oh my honey she’s gone away Good times will come back some day All my money has gone away All my friends are here to stay Oh my honey she’s gone away Good times will come back some day Good times will come back some day Good times will come back some day

Run away to some Mississippi town Thought I saw Elvis he’s pushing 80 now We’ll find work here my uncle says Ain’t no drilling got keep my baby fed Smell of oil still rides the wind No oysters offered at the Sea Side Inn It’s not my fault I need the pay When the company calls we go to work that day Her tears are made of sunshine Her love goes down like moonshine Still waters roll over me Let my body drift out to sea Boarded up schools rust where water flowed Dust cover the corner drug’s empty rows Would love to change my life and do what’s right Will “right” put food on my table tonight You have your jacket and your tie the costume of a bureaucrat I fix your car wearing dungarees You’ve been to Paris I’ve been to Lorton I’ve walked your dogs while you dined with kings But have you been from sea to shining sea Her tears are made of sunshine Her love goes down like moonshine Still waters roll over me Let my body drift out to sea Her tears are made of sunshine Her love goes down like moonshine Still waters roll over me Let my body drift out to sea Let my body drift out to sea Let my body drift out to sea Let my body drift out to sea Let my body drift out to sea Let my body drift out to sea

Change 03:29
A wink and a smile can go a long way Just when you think you’re here to stay A change comes ‘cause nothing stays the same But it’s gotta be this way, it’s always been this way Now I can cry and freak out and break down It makes a lot of sense when you’re around Nothing feels good ‘cause no one likes to change But it’s gotta be this way, it’s always been this way And it’s bloody and it’s mean and it’s lonesome and it’s cold When the things you love start to get old And nothing feels good ‘cause no one likes to change But it’s gotta be this way, it’s always been this way I can learn to let it go Let the autumn sky begin to snow I’ve learned to love the highs and lows But it’s gotta be this way, it’s always been this way And it’s bloody and it’s mean and it’s lonesome and it’s cold When the things you love start to get old And nothing feels good ‘cause no ones likes to change It’s always been this way It’s always been this way It’s always been this way

about

Eight years after their debut release "Shutdown" in 2014, BoxCartel releases their second full length album titled "The 9" in April of 2022. The album features nine songs that the band has been playing live for years. After a three year hiatus, BoxCartel reunited with all original members in the summer of 2021 and decided to go back into the studio to take care of some unfinished business. These nine songs have been re-arranged by the band, polished up for the studio and lovingly mixed by BoxCartel drummer and co-producer Doug McKalip. "The 9" takes the listener on a journey through a variety of genres with a distinct sound that defies categorization but is uniquely BoxCartel. Please enjoy.
